Privacy Policy

Sovereign is designed with privacy and confidentiality as foundational principles. This Privacy Policy explains how Sovereign handles information and clarifies the scope and limits of the developer’s access to data when you use the software.

Last Updated on March 15, 2026

Sovereign is built to support professionals who work with sensitive information. The product prioritizes local storage, minimal data exposure, and privacy-preserving AI processing.

  1. Privacy-First, Local-First Design

Sovereign operates primarily on your Mac computer. Notes, conversations, documents, and workspace information are stored locally on your device using a local database.

Sovereign does not maintain its own servers that store or process your workspace data.

Where AI functionality is used, information necessary to generate responses may be transmitted securely to the AI provider. Sovereign is configured to use AI services with HIPAA-compliant infrastructure and Zero Data Retention (ZDR) policies.

All core data such as workspaces, notes, and history remain stored locally on your device.

  1. AI Processing and Data Transmission

When you choose to use AI features within Sovereign, text you submit may be securely transmitted to the AI provider (OpenAI) to generate responses.

Important safeguards include:

  • The AI provider operates under a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) where applicable.

  • Zero Data Retention (ZDR) settings are enabled so the provider does not store or retain prompts or outputs.

  • Data is transmitted only for the purpose of generating the requested response.

  • Sovereign does not store prompts or outputs on any remote infrastructure.

Sovereign itself does not retain AI request data.

  1. No Sovereign Data Servers

Sovereign does not operate backend servers that store or process user workspace data.

Specifically:

  • No notes or documents are stored on Sovereign servers

  • No client or case information is uploaded to Sovereign infrastructure

  • No conversation history is synced to Sovereign servers

All workspace data remains stored locally on your device.

  1. No Behavioral Tracking or Analytics

Sovereign does not use analytics tools, behavioral tracking systems, or telemetry to monitor how you use the application.

Specifically:

  • No usage analytics are collected

  • No session tracking occurs

  • No advertising trackers are used

  • No cookies or cross-session identifiers are deployed

The developer does not monitor user activity inside the application.

  1. Payments and Licensing

Sovereign is distributed directly through its website rather than through an app marketplace.

Payments and subscription billing are handled by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Stripe may collect and process payment information such as billing details and payment method information according to Stripe’s own privacy policies.

Software licensing and activation are handled through Keyforge.dev. Licensing services may process limited information necessary to validate software access.

Neither Stripe nor Keyforge.dev receive access to your workspace data, notes, or AI prompts.

  1. Local Storage and User Control

All user-generated content within Sovereign is stored locally on your Mac using local storage mechanisms.

This includes:

  • notes and documents

  • conversations and prompts

  • generated summaries or drafts

  • workspace information

You retain full control over this data.

You are responsible for:

  • securing access to your computer

  • managing device backups if desired

  • exporting or deleting local data when necessary

Sovereign does not maintain copies of your data.

  1. No Developer Access to User Data

Because Sovereign does not maintain servers storing workspace data, the developer does not have access to your information.

Specifically:

  • the developer cannot view your notes or documents

  • the developer cannot retrieve your workspace data

  • the developer cannot monitor how the application is used

  • the developer cannot recover data if it is deleted or lost

All data remains under your control on your device.

  1. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the software or legal requirements.

If updates occur, the revised version will be posted on the Sovereign website with an updated effective date.

Changes will not retroactively alter how previously processed data was handled.
